Clowns Without Borders Bahama Hurricane Releif tour, Monday 12/9

Monday, we went to the facility where we will be doing our shows and workshops. When we arrived, we were quickly greeted by the staff there. She took us on a tour of the shelter. It’s in a basketball gymnasium next to a bigger athletic facility. There is a soccer stadium, swimming pool, etc... there. The residence of the shelter are in the basketball gym and tents next to the gym. We clowned for some of the kids while we were getting our tour. It turned into a follow the clown situation with kids playing with Leora, Clay, and me as we toured the facility.

Clay and I were wearing our clown noses. We both have clown noses that use a string to keep them on our faces. One of the kids asked to see Clay’s clown nose. He told the child that he already had a clown nose, a bottle cap from a water bottle. Eventually, this child found a string and managed to tie the bottle cap onto his nose, matching the strings on our noses. The string was a little tight for his face, but the child made it work.

Monday night, we practiced making juggling balls with balloons and sand.
Tuesday, we will start doing our juggling and game workshops.
